Who will be this year’s Derek Walker Volunteer Citizen of the Year?
WMA seeks worthy citizen to receive 10th annual award
Volunteers are the backbone of the Westmount community, and in order to recognize those who continue to donate their time and effort for the good of their neighbours, the Westmount Municipal Association is once again seeking nominations of worthy community volunteers to receive what will be the tenth annual Derek Walker Volunteer Citizen of the Year Award.
The award will be presented at the WMA’s annual general meeting in May, and the recipient’s name will be added to a plaque hanging in Victoria Hall.
Criteria for the award is simple. Eligible nominees must have lived in Westmount for a minimum of three years and should have been carrying out most of their volunteer work in this community.
To nominate someone, all you have to do is write a letter to the WMA outlining your nominee’s contribution to the community. Letters should be addressed to Francie Montgomery and may be sent by e-mail to volunteer.award@wma-amw.org. Deadline for nominations is April 17.
