Two Westmount residents won four Summit International Awards last month for their branding and design work.
Vasco Ceccon and Francine Léger from Vasco Design received two silver and two bronze awards at the Summit Creative Award Competition, which recognizes design agencies from around the world.
“We are very proud of it because we will receive big trophies with that,” said Léger. Most importantly, Léger believes these awards will further establish Vasco Design as a leading agency because they are the result of their extremely hard work.
“It is very difficult to win prizes, and when we participated we hoped we would win,” said Léger. “There were more than 1,000 submissions from 26 countries,” she said.
Among the prizes they won there is a bronze award for the design of Quebec singer Garou's production company's logo, and a silver award for a complete branding program for the SM Group.
“It was a long process. We worked about two years on this project,” Léger said of the SM Group project. “We did the branding and the logo on their vehicles, the internet and corporate brochures.”
This is not the first time that Vasco Design has been distinguished for its work. The agency, which has designed logos for companies such as Kruger and the National Bank, has won over 150 awards over the 40 years it's been in business.
“Each time we enter a competition, we win,” said Léger. “You should see my boardroom, there are a lot of awards on the walls.”
