Tu Bishevat Seder at Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom, 395 Elm Ave., at 8:15 p.m. Four cups of wine, glorious fruits and varieties of nuts are just the beginning of this delightful mystical custom from Safed, a unique seder. The Women's Canadian Club of Montreal hosts 'Nordic Passion', at 11 a.m. at the Unitarian Church, 5035 de Maisonneuve Blvd W. Award-winning pianist Derek Yaple-Schobert will play works by 18th and 19th century composers Grieg, Niels Gade and Beethoven. A luncheon featuring authentic Danish food follows the recital. Dramatis Personae, Westmount's Community Theatre, is looking for an actor to play a small but important part in its next production, The Ballad of the Sad Café by Edward Albee. The part is meant for a man, but could be played by a woman. We would also welcome an assistant producer to help with stage management, publicity etc. Rehearsals take place Mondays at 8 pm in Victoria Hall. The performances will be in early June. Ballroom Dance Classes for people living with Parkinson's to be given at Centre Greene. Instructors are Susan Chiasson, ballroom dance teacher and Ellen Rubin, retired physiotherapist who specialized in the treatment of neurological conditions and has been a dancer for 12 years. This is a social dance class for those living with stage 1 or stage 2 Parkinson's. Must bring an able-bodied partner. The goal of this class is to learn to dance and have fun.
