While our neighbours south of the border will be celebrating their Thanksgiving, finally relaxing after a long presidential election campaign, Westmount will still be in the thick of a provincial race, and on that same evening the local candidates will be assembled in Victoria Hall for the traditional Meet the Candidates event.

Co-organized once again by The Examiner and the Westmount Municipal Association, the meeting will be held on Thursday evening, Nov. 27, a few days before the advance polls, and is expected to follow the same format of previous events. Each candidate will give their opening remarks, followed by a question period, and ending with the candidates' closing remarks.

Westmounter Victor Drury, who has moderated several of these events in the past, most recently the federal candidates at Westmount High School in late August, has once again accepted out invitation to serve as moderator.

At this early stage of the campaign, only incumbent Liberal MNA Jacques Chagnon has announced his candidacy.
