Westmount's summer mixer, Hawaiian style
By Stanley Baker
Anyone passing the Westmount Lawn Bowling green on June 26 was sure to notice a colourful event that brought about 40 City of Westmount staff members and elected officials to the club for an afternoon of Hawaiian fun.
With tropical music playing and many participants decked out in Hawaiian attire, the bowlers enjoyed a feast catered by Mister Steer and the club before taking to the green with great aplomb.
Richard Menear, the club's greens' director, organized the competition so that all participants were winners. Outstanding bowlers were Mayor Karin Marks, city councillor Tom Thompson and community events coordinator Maureen Lafrenière.
The event was an excellent opportunity for the cream of
Westmount workers to have a great time bowling and get to know each other.
