Here comes Family Day!
One of Westmount's longest-standing community traditions is back for the 33rd time this year.
Family Day in Westmount Park will be held this Saturday, May 31, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and all the favourite activities from previous years will be back.
Families will be able to enjoy a variety of activities, from a costume parade to hayrides, from races to a tug-of-war. There will be pony rides, a petting zoo, carnival and booths. Play on the inflatable games, get your face painted at the make-up booth, ride the aerial runway, pet a llama, feed a goat, compete in the egg toss... and eat anything from hot dogs to s’mores.
And, as in previous years, various community groups and organizations will also be on hand to give you up-to-date information on their activities. A variety of foods and refreshments may be purchased throughout the day – organized by Java U, Girl Guides and Venturer Scouts.
Officers from Westmount’s Public Security Unit and neighbourhood police Station 12 will be conducting child seat safety inspections. Bring your car to the Family Day site and officers will verify that your child seat is properly installed, at no charge. According to government statistics, only 57 per cent of child safety seats used in Quebec are installed correctly, and the dangers of motor vehicle accidents are too important to ignore.
In case of rain, most of the events will be held inside the arena.
