Camera Club to host noted photographer Martin
The Montreal Camera Club will hold its main fundraising event on Monday, April 14 with a special evening seminar presented by Canadian photographer Richard Martin.
Exploring the medium of photography as a means of visual expression, Martin will examine his personal and poetic approach to recording the visual world. Interspersed with inspiring audio-visual presentations, Martin's presentation will concentrate on the making of photographs that evoke and stimulate the imagination, and reveal the magic and mystery of the world around us.

With an emphasis on simplifying the photographic process, there will be discussions on the process of seeing and making photographs, the practical use of visual design, producing clear visual statements, and the use of techniques to evoke emotions in an image.

A long-time contributor to Photo Life, Martin pursues photography as a medium of visual expression. Well known for sharing his enthusiasm, creative vision and passion for the medium, he has been leading annual workshops on photography and visual design in his native Kingston, Ontario for 17 years. He also conducts workshops, tours and seminars around the world, including Cuba, Sicily, Venice, Tuscany, Provence, Seattle, San Francisco, Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal.

Martin's presentation promises to be an absolute 'must see' for anyone interested in the visual arts. Admission is $15 for this fundraising event.

It all takes place at 7:30 p.m. at Westmount Park Church, 4695 de Maisonneuve Boul. W. (corner of Lansdowne). Entrance is at the back of the church. The closest metro station is Vendome.
