SASKATOON - A former Saskatoon librarian has pleaded guilty to fraud in a phoney book-buying scheme that cost his employer nearly $1 million.
Bruce David Cameron, former director of the Wheatland Regional Library, is to be sentenced Aug. 27.
Cameron, 65, is alleged to have purchased books from a fake book company he set up, and then pocketed the money.
He was fired from his job three years ago and police charged him with fraud last year.
A judge has asked for a pre-sentence report to help determine what type of sentence Cameron might face, including one that includes no jail time.
The Wheatland Regional Library provides services to several rural Saskatchewan communities.
