EDMONTON - Edmonton police believe they've busted a Canada-wide card skimming operation with links to Ontario and Quebec.
Three men in their early 20s and a 19-year-old suspect are charged with possessing instruments for credit card forgery, possession of personal information or PIN data and possession of property obtained by crime.
A 24-year-old suspect is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.
Police say a customer at a south Edmonton gas station became suspicious while using his debit card in February.
It later turned out that the accounts of at least 62 customers had been targeted in the scam, and within days of accounts being breached, stolen banking information was being used at ATMs in Quebec.
Police searched an Edmonton apartment May 1 and seized several items used to steal banking and PIN information, as well as a fake Ontario driver's licence.
