WINDSOR, Ont. - A charge of impaired driving causing death has been laid in connection with a fatal crash early Monday in Windsor, Ont.
Darnell Scanterbury was killed when the vehicle the 21-year-old was a passenger in lost control and split apart in half after hitting two trees. Scanterbury, who was in the back seat, was thrown from the car and landed about seven metres away.
He was pronounced dead at the scene while four other people in the car suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Police say alcohol and speed were factors.
The driver, 22-year-old Jordan Barker of Windsor, has been charged and remanded into custody.
