MONTREAL - The coast guard and Montreal firefighters are searching for a man whose boat capsized in the St. Lawrence River.
Const. Yanick Ouimet of the Montreal police says two boaters clung to the wreckage for two hours before a 51-year-old man slipped away. His 37-year-old boating partner held on for an extra hour and was rescued by family members who came along in another boat.
The boaters were all headed toward a family residence on an island near Montreal.
The rescued man, who is expected to be released from hospital later today, told police they were only a few hundred metres from shore when the boat hit a wave and flipped.
Police say the men were not wearing life-jackets.
