WINNIPEG - A new contract between Westfair Foods and its Manitoba employees has been ratified by 75 per cent.
The deal was reached a week ago between the company and Local 832 of the United Food and Commercial Workers union. The agreement covers 3,600 workers at Westfair's Real Canadian Superstores and Extra Foods stores in Manitoba.
Meanwhile, a ratification vote is pending for a tentative contract reached for Superstore and Extra Foods workers in Saskatchewan.
They had been set to hit the picket line on Saturday, but a pact was worked out with Loblaw Group on Friday night.
