MONTREAL - Quebec's popular health minister says he is rethinking his political future.
Philippe Couillard says he has talked to Premier Jean Charest about the possibility of changing jobs and didn't rule out leaving politics.
Couillard has been the province's health minister since 2003 and is seen as one of the more able members of Premier Jean Charest's cabinet.
Charest says he believes Couillard is one of the best health ministers Quebec has ever had and he has been reluctant to change his portfolio.
Couillard has been repeatedly touted as a possible successor to Charest.
A brain surgeon by training, Couillard is said be tired of the high-profile but thankless health portfolio.
Recent polls have suggested the minority Liberals are pulling away from their rivals, while Charest has vastly improved his approval ratings since last year's election.
