Peddling Engineers Without Borders
In support of Engineers Without Borders (EWB), student Jacob Beaudry will be spending 24 hours riding a stationary bike, starting March 29 at 10 a.m. Jacob thus hopes to raise awareness about international development issues while raising money to help send EWB volunteers overseas. Last year, two students were sent to Ghana; this year, three students will be pursuing projects in Ghana, Zambia and Burkina Faso. Fellow students, professors and local politicians have been invited to cycle alongside Jacob, while EWB volunteers provide information about the organization’s work. Swing dancing, yoga and live music will surround Jacob while he pedals. The event will take place at 3580 University St., Montreal, in the lobby of McConnell Engineering Building.
