The Bimetallic Question, the local Sherlock Holmes Society, will meet at Westmount Library at 6:30 p.m. for their usual fun evening. There will be a quiz on 'The Case of the Dying Detective'. The Atwater Lunchtime Series presents a talk by Antonia Sealy, 'Stories of Montrealers from Barbados', the first of three ALCC Black History Month events, at 12:30 p.m. in the Atwater Library, 1200 Atwater Ave. (at Tupper). The Westmount Municipal Association holds an open meeting featuring guest speaker Natalia Shuster, Commander of Police Station 12, who will discuss 'Public Safety, Crime Prevention and Traffic' at 7 p.m. in the Westmount Room of the Westmount Public Library, 4574 Sherbrooke St. W. There will be a question period. All are welcome.



Introduction to Judaism, a 12-week course offered by Rabbi Leigh Lerner and Rabbi Elina Bykova, begins at 5:45 p.m. at Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom, 395 Elm Ave. It is required for those converting to Judaism or for those entering an intermarriage under the Temple's auspices. Info: 514-937-3575.
