On Sunday, July 12, at 2 p.m. join other music lovers at Westmount Park Lagoon for a free concert by professional musicians. These concerts are partly funded by the City of Westmount and by the Music Performance Fund under agreement with the American Federation of Musicians and the Guilde des musiciens du Québec for the promotion of live music. Rain location: Victoria Hall.

This year’s edition of the Mike Gauthier (Guitar) /Lorrie Goodman (Organ) Organ-ization (including the acclaimed Eric Thibodeau on drums) offers a slight departure from their usual swing/bop/blues based fare. In keeping with the group’s penchant for presenting a repertoire largely consisting of original compositions, the current tune list reflects the funky-er and more contemporary grooves found in today’s jazz…while still adhering to the tried and true “organ trio” format. The group’s 3rd CD that will include this newer facet of their musical explorations is presently in the works.
