Good job, Bob
Good job, Bob
Habs improved
How many of you, dear Habs fans are going to keep on trash-talking big Bob!?! I actively participated in an open forum this week and couldn’t believe how many “Gerant D’estrade” there are out there!
Some people think it’s so easy to just simply go out and sign Hossa or Gaborik. “Ya just through in a couple of extra millions, bla bla bla…” Some people actually have more in their minds than MONEY, unlike Komisarek (who I will proudly boo when t-dot comes to town). Bob has bettered our team by 10 folds this summer, and apparently he’s not done yet! Let’s back track to our top line at season’s end last year. Koivu centered Tanguay and our beloved Kovy (who, needless to remind you, shows up 1 game on 3, and which you all wanted to trade before the deadline). Koivu was replaced by Gomez. Yes, he costs almost double, but that’s the price to pay to attract other free agents in this undesirable, heavily-taxed, media-trashing city. Gomez is NO DOUBT, much better, much faster, and much more skilled than Koivu. Yes, he experienced some difficulty in New York, often playing on the second power play unit while changing linemates every other day. He will now be reunited with Gionta, a duo that combined for 81 goals and 173 points just 3 seasons ago. For his part, a younger Gionta replaces Kovalev. We are getting rid of a very skilled “marketing sham” forward who can post about 60 points a season (except for the two exceptional seasons he has since he got drafted about 15 years ago) by Gionta who can probably produce a lot more than Kovalev can on a consistent basis, providing a positive vibe to the room and a lot of good energy. On the left, we replaced a downgrading playmaker in Tanguay, who experienced his best seasons alongside the superstars in Colorado, with a young, promising, gritty, skilled scorer. Cammalleri can produce over 30 goals a season, and I am very exited and hopeful to see his production increase from 39 goals last season when being matched to Gomez and Gionta on our top line. We will have one of the top 5 first lines in the league no questions asked!! Back on the blue line we added one of the top 10-15 offensive defensemen in the league. Spacek will come help out our dear Markov with his powerful one-timer we’ve been missing since Souray left. As for Hal Gill, Finally a Jumbo sized defensemen who can successfully clear the front of the net without being tripped over by Lucic! He Doesn’t have to play on our top 4, he doesn’t even have to play more than 10 minutes a game, but his experience, leadership and size is a definite asset to our team. These addition will be a definite asset paving the way for our promising prospects. With the cap space left, if Gainey can sign another d-man, ie: Beauchemin, Kuba, Morris, Bergeron ect., we are going to have a much more competitive team than we have had in the past 15 years! GOOD JOB BOB!

Where to start?

1. Good job Bob for coming through on revamping a hapless hab team. We all know that the Gomez and Gionta pick ups were plan C or even Plan D for Bobby G, but something needed to be done and it was.

2. Saku, the real hab fans will miss you 100%. The retards in the molson zone won't but you've been an exemplary model to follow. Business is busines.. Good luck the rest of the way and g-d bless.

3. Kovy, um ya so I guess thanks for 1 great and 1 good seasons on 4. Thank you mostly for electrifying the bell centre with your magic (every other game or so)

4. Hall Gill? Jaro Spacek at how much? YIKES!! Excuse my pessimism but i really cant stand either of them. Hope hey come through nonetheless. Hope Weber and Suban steal a spot(or two)

5. Carey Price has to stand on his head this year. He has to make saves he has no business making. He’s a star in nets, I think its time to show it!

6. When the habs are battling for eight this year, fans, please be patient. You can’t blame Koivu anymore. New coaches, new top line, new Dmen = New Team

I agree 100%. Thinking with my head, I know its a great move even though my heart hurts. Saku and Kovy - I thank you for your many years of service and the excitment you brought to our great franchise! Good luck in the future in and out of hockey. Bob - amazing job! Heart is what I see added to this team, speed kills and please don't take this the wrong way Euro's, but a Canadian (Canadien) in Cami makes be very excited!
