Positive progress

I'm half way through my six weeks of training with Steve Frischman at The Power Co. Fitness Centre and the results have been excellent.
Since I started working out, I've lost close to 10 pounds and my ability to perform different exercises has noticeably increased — and I seem to have an extra boost of energy afterwards. (For instance, carrying my 25 to 30 pound almost two-year-old daughter in my arms after she's decided walking home from the park is no longer fun doesn't seem to be as tiring as it once was).

Last Thursday, Frischman invited me to attend one of his 'boot camp' sessions. With about 15 other people in the group, the dynamics are a bit different than when he trains with me one-on-one during my regular afternoon sessions. It's interesting to note what others can do or have problems with. The group I worked out with was mixed, men and women with varying levels of physical ability. However, we were all expected to follow Frischman's lead, from high knees to straights on the punching bag. His motto for some who couldn't do 10 push ups was it's better to do one proper push up than 10 half ones.

I'm halfway through my six-week workout program as I wrote this Tuesday morning so I am looking forward to the final stages of my training. Stay tuned to your favourite West Island weekly and website for my updates and progress.
