New contributors to Montreal Sportlight: Rick Moffat and an ape

No doubt that by now, dear readers, you have warmed to the contributions of Thundermonkey, our new columnist, whose rantings and ravings can be found several times a week. We have a saying around the office: If it's silly and can be found in the wild, wacky world of sports, Thundermonkey will be weighing on it.

In more serious news, Montreal Sportlight and The Chronicle, The West End Chronicle and the Westmount Examiner are extremely pleased to announce the signing of CJAD 800 sports director and the play-by-play voice of the Montreal Canadiens and the Montreal Alouettes, Rick Moffat.

Rick, a Lachine resident, – born and raised, actually – and is a trusted voice to anyone who has ever listened to the Habs or Als on the radio, will bring his unique perspective to our sites in the minutes following games. Rick will post in the moments following big games and from the road, giving Montreal Sportlight readers the chance to get that 'close-up perspective'

In addition, Rick will be occasionally responding to e-mail questions from readers and we welcome interaction. Questions can be sent to marc.lalonde@transcontinental.ca, and we will pass them on to Rick.
