Archer excels at Stanstead

Westmounter Gabrielle Archer has been named to the Stanstead College Headmaster’s List for earning 85 per cent or higher on her December report card.

Gabrielle is in Grade 11 at Stanstead College, an international co-educational boarding/day school in the Eastern Townships for boys and girls in Grades 7 to 12. Gabrielle is a school prefect, a member of the girls' hockey team and editor of the school yearbook.

In all, 30 of Stanstead’s 185 students earned a place on the Headmaster’s List, while 34 students earned academic honours for averages between 80 and 85 percent.

Students on the Headmaster’s List were honoured at a supper Jan. 8, followed by an assembly with guest speakers Warren Creates and Ahmed Mohamed. The two spoke to the students about the Afar people, who live in one of the most desolate parts of Africa, and their organization’s efforts to provide aid and training.
