Celebrating long service

In what can be best described as a true Westmount tradition, the City administration feted its own long-time employees last Thursday evening at the 64th annual Quarter Century Club banquet in Victoria Hall.

The longest-serving City worker to be honoured this year was Janette Bruce of the Westmount Public Library, who has recognized for her 35 years on the job.

The newest inductees into the Quarter Century Club — those who have reached the 25-year mark— are Timothy Beaupré, Nicholas Cocca and Patrick Sheehan of the Public Security Department; Tony Forchilli of Hydro Westmount; Alan Kulaga of Human Resources; John Lahache of Public Works, and Patricia Weigt from the City Clerk's Office.

Those marking 20 years with the City are Suzanne Chapman and Robert White from Sports, Recreation and Community Events; Gino Ciampelletti, John Monteiro, Marina Peter, Howard Ransom and Marianne Zalzal from Public Works; Alain Deslongchamps from Information Technologies; Joanne Poirier of Urban Planning, and Jean St-Pierre of Human Resources.

The City also recognized the following employees for attaining 15 years of service: Stéphane Bergeron, Raymond Black, Richard Heppell and Salvatore Lipari of Hydro Westmount; Claude Danis, David Lapointe and Bruce Stacey from Sports, Recreation and Community Events; Robert Goyer, Denis St-Pierre and Sergio Velardo of Public Works; Dawna Hobbs and Wendy Wayling of Library Services; Peter Jay and Jean McKenzie of Public Security.
