It's a question of 'when', not 'will he' catch Damon Allen, right? I've got late October 2010 at the tender age of 38 in my AC Milestone Pool. With a strong finish to '09 and another secondary-busting 3rd year under Trestman (I know---he's gone NFL by 2011) Calvillo will move to #1 alltime in TD passes. And more importantly by the end of 2010 he WILL have another Championship ring.
Fathers...can you always keep in mind the importance of helping kids with their homework? Als D-coordinator Tim Burke tells me one of the biggest differences in Shea Emry this season is his studious preparation. His father (a football coach) studied film with the first-year starting middle linebacker in the offseason.
Have you noticed AC is the cover boy for the new CFL Record book this season? Fitting. By contrast Quinton Porter of Hamilton is the "Unknown QB"...doesn't even have his picture at his bio.
Are you surprised there are still plenty of "50-% OFF" Kovalev shirts at La Capsule Sportive in Fairview? I'm not.
Are you surprised there were so many Als Retro shirts and jerseys in the stands for the Cats' game? I wasn't. Als fans across the country are asking me to ship them gear. Congrats to the L'Equipeur team for getting a new Als Boutique open at the Eaton Centre to handle the demand.
Are the Als' black and blue 3rd jerseys now tossed down the memory hole? Philosophically I like the idea of a football team with those pain-inducing colours, and I actually like the look of them, but I don't think they ever connected with the fans because of the break from any past colour scheme.
Will someone please tell the New York Islanders they can only put one goalie in the crease at a time?
Why are so many fans surprised when I tell them the biggest reason for the Habs turnaround this coming season will be a stellar year from Carey Price?
Just renewed my passport for the coming Canadiens sked and with this 'no smile' rule, judging from my new passport photo---would you feel safe on a flight with me? I wouldn't.
