Officials with the McGill University Health Centre have agreed to keep the City of Westmount better informed on the progress of construction on the mega-hospital campus, slated to be built in the Glen Yards. "We had a brief meeting, the director-general and I, with the MUHC, who have gone to tender on their project for the MUHC buildings and who have agreed that they will come and meet with council as this project unfolds and keep us informed so that we can in turn keep residents informed of how this is moving forward and what their plans are," Mayor Karin Marks said recently.

Since planning for the facility first started more than a decade ago, Marks has noted numerous times that the MUHC has not always been forthcoming with information about the project, and that she subsequently wasn't always in a position to answer residents' questions. "Of course, it will have an impact on the residents who live in proximity to that project," she said. "So I think it's good news that they at least consider that we should be very much kept in the loop."
