Members of the Scouting movement in Westmount are preparing an evening of fun, food and fantastic entertainment at Victoria Hall this Saturday, Nov. 28 from 6 to 9 p.m.

There will be scouting activities for all ages indoors and out. Jazz trio Northbrook Nine will provide musical entertainment during dinner. A collection of historical memorabilia will be on display and Scouts would especially like to invite people who have their own story to tell about their Scouting experiences from Westmount or elsewhere. There will be some special guests, including Mayor Peter Trent, participating in the evening’s activities.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children up to age 12. They will be available at the door or by calling 514-937-5527.

The community dinner is just one of several events celebrating 100 years of Scouting in Westmount. On Oct. 28, the CEO of Scouts Canada, Rob Stewart, presented a certificate of recognition to Mayor Trent honouring the City of Westmount for 100 years of supporting this extraordinary youth movement. Information about Scouting in Westmount can be found on the web site www.scoutswestmount.ca • Virginia Elliott is Area Commissioner for Scouts Canada, Stoney Point.
