The Little Flower has grown into a garden.

A step off of Hudson’s main drag rests Décor & Tissus Serenity. A shop overflowing in fabrics and personality, co-owned by the mother-daughter team of Terri Macfarlane and Aggie Walker, this shop only a year and half old sets itself apart from most design centers and fabric store thanks to their presence.

Topics :
Décor & Tissus Serenity , Mademoiselle Clifford Floral Emporium and Tea House , Hudson , Alexandria , 67 Cameron Road

There is something to see in every corner of this charming converted old house and with Terri’s obvious flare for interior design and Aggies fabric know how, thanks to years running ‘The Little Flower’ a popular quilting store in Alexandria, these two women of differing disciplines have merged their talents to make a creative and knowledgeable team.

I don’t want to give you an inventory of what they offer so here are a few highlights. I know you’re supposed to save the best for last but my chin dropped to the floor when Terri told me about the decision to give her clients seamstress fees at cost. Having worked in the field I can tell you honestly this alone is worth the visit!

The in-house fabrics were generally a traditional to country style ranging in price from about 6 to 30$ a meter, they also have books and books of fabrics to choose from. For those of you looking to breathe a little fresh air into your current designs they offer colour consultation and home staging.

Visit their website for more accurate information www.decorserenity.com or better yet pop in for a look yourself.

Décor & Tissus Serenity is located at 67 Cameron Road across the street from Mademoiselle Clifford Floral Emporium and Tea House, great name!

One last tip for you treasure hunters out there. Ye Auld Curiosité Shoppe is filled with antiques and not so antique collectables, a fun stop and totally worth the detour it’s located only half a block away, 441 on the Main.

Hudson hasn’t seen the last of me yet! Thanks to the ladies at Décor Serenity I have a couple of new resources to check out. Look for me on Thursdays in the afternoon. I’m trying to time my trip with the farmers market, I’m told there’s a booth that sells homemade bread that’s to die for. Have a personal style question or interior design conundrum? Have a great local style resource? Please send them to me . . . I want to hear from you! Send e-mail questions, comments, insults or complaints to jakdesigns@videotron.ca
