Series of free evenings offered in partnership with Quebec’s top universities

With a talk on the future of health care in Canada by McGill University’s Antonia Maioni, Marianopolis College kicks off a free series of evenings highlighting the College’s 100 years of educating young people.

Free and open to all, the Centennial edition of the Marianopolis College Speaker Series will showcase renowned experts from Quebec’s top universities who will share their diverse knowledge of world issues and provoke thought and discussion. The talks take place in the Auditorium of Marianopolis College, 4873 Westmount Ave., Westmount. Please arrive early to secure your seat. Refreshments will be served starting at 6:30 p.m. Speaking beginning at 7 on Wednesday evenings will be:

Sept. 23, Antonia Maioni, director of the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada, “Health care in Canada: Where from here?”

Oct. 28, Senator Roméo Dallaire, Senior Fellow, Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies, Concordia University, “Revitalizing Canada’s world role and renewing youth activism?”

Nov. 18, Suzanne Lalonde, International Law Professor, Université de Montréal, “On Thin Ice: Canadian sovereignty in the changing Artic.”

Jan. 27, Jacques Nantel, General Secretary and Marketing Professor, HEC Montréal, “Is marketing going astray?”

Feb. 17, Michael Goldbloom, Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Bishop’s University, “Media and democracy in the 21st century.” Recognized as one of Quebec’s top pre-university colleges, Marianopolis boasts a diverse student body comprised of 1,800 students from over 170 public and private high schools, English and French, from Quebec and abroad. It is marking its 100th anniversary this year.
