Queen of Angels Academy in Dorval presents “Anne Frank and Me”, a comedy drama, on April 23, 24 and 25 at 7:30 pm. Powerful and touching, it’s a story about the awakening of a 2009 high school student to the truths of the Holocaust.

Sarah Burrows, Ally Usypchuk and Jen Van der Wee, student directors of the production, were asked last May to select a play for this year’s production. After reading "Anne Frank and Me" they realized how deeply moved they were and wanted to tell its story. “‘Anne Frank & Me’ is a play that touched our hearts as soon as we read it. It was a bit of a risk choosing such a serious play, but we felt it was an important part of history and that the story should not be forgotten. The end result will leave the audience with a profound understanding of the times. With our amazing cast, I know the production will surpass the highest expectations of the audience and leave them with a ‘wow that was amazing’ feeling,” states Ally Usypchuk, one of the play’s student directors.

Mentored by QAA teachers Rorita Gattinger, Sarah Jones and Isobel MacDonald, QAA's student run Drama Club organizes acting workshops, prepares audition material, casts actors and stages the production.

State Alessia Fasenella and Tamara Lavoie, QAA actresses, “Working together on this play we were able to truly understand the horrors of the Holocaust and the hardships these innocent people suffered. Yet, in the end, it was their steadfast hope that made this play the masterpiece that it truly is.” Tickets: $7 Please bring a non-perishable food item. Proceeds and food will be donated to Dans la Rue. Queen of Angels Academy,100 Bouchard Blvd., Dorval.
