Then, it evolved into a series of mixed media artworks called Miniscapes, that will be on display at ConservArt, located at 5649 Monkland, from February 11 – 28. (The vernissage will be held Wednesday, February 11, between 5 and 8 p.m.) The NDG artist has also self-published a book of the entire collection through Blurb, an online publishing web site.
All of the original cards and many of the artworks in the book (among them, "Gone Fishing", a delightful and touching portrait of Shulman's dad, who passed away March, 2008, will be on display at ConservArt, with copies of the book available for purchase as well.
A Montrealer by birth, Shulman studied at the Musée des Beaux Arts and at the Saidye Bronfman Centre for the Arts and has been a visual artist working in various media for over 20 years. She has had several solo and group exhibitions in Montreal, Toronto, and in the United States. Miniscapes is the fourth in a series of “scape” exhibitions; the last was Lovescapes at the Bain St-Michel this past fall.
After Lovescapes, comes Miniscapes for NDG artist
