Westmounters can now pamper their feet in anticipation of long summer walks by going through the largest selection of Birkenstock sandals in the city.

The Birkenstock Naturino concept store is now open on Greene Avenue, providing a wide selection of footwear for the whole family. "It's the first concept store of its kind in the world," said Glenn Neven, director of operations.

The boutique, which previously only carried the Italian Naturino brand for children, has been renovated to accommodate the German Birkenstock line, famous for its comfort and quality.

The opening coincides with an evolution of the Birkenstock design toward a more fashionable style. Several designers such as Heidi Kum and Marc Jacobs have been creating their own lines for the brand, and a bigger variety of colours and styles is now available.

Both brands focus on comfort, while staying faithful to their commitment to good health. "It always amazes me how people, especially children, walk around all day in shoes that have no support," said Neven.

He said although flip-flops are quite popular in the summer, they are not meant to be worn on a daily basis and should only be used for their original purpose – walking on the beach. "They actually change the way you walk," he said.

The Birkenstock Naturino store is located at 1325 Greene Ave.

Just to say that L'Oiseau Tonnerre is specialised in Birkenstock since over 25 years. They have an incredible service and they KNOW feet. They sell other things but their speciality seems to be Birkenstock. On Duluth Street in montreal. I think this is their website: http://www.oiseautonnerre.com hoping it helps
