It was standing room only at the Atwater Library last Thursday afternoon as Prof. H. J. McQueen drew a capacity crowd to hear his presentation on the history of the Victoria Bridge. The well-known Concordia University Professor of Engineering was on hand to discuss the bridge on the occasion of its 150th anniversary. With emphasis on the technical problems and engineering triumphs, McQueen gave a detailed account of the bridge's construction — which was carried out under often adverse weather conditions — through its completion in 1959 and subsequent lauding as the "Eighth Wonder of the World."
